One Life

This drama builds from a single idea during WWII to a last act of towering emotion in the 1980s. It’s a story of radical bravery, of Nicholas Winton, a stockbroker gripped by a need save the young refugees of Prague by gathering visas and finding them homes.

Winton is a man driven by an unstoppable need to help but, throughout his life, he is haunted by never helping enough and by those that were left behind.  Winton’s monumental accomplishment was kept hidden for years then – remarkably – BBC’s That’s Life stepped in to show him his achievement.
