About Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre
Eastgate Theatre & Arts Centre is more than just a theatre. We are a creative hub where people of all ages come together to be inspired, engage with diverse artistic offerings, and foster community connections. Our programme spans theatre, music, dance, film, visual arts, and more. We are dedicated to making the arts accessible, relevant, and enriching for everyone.
The Role of a Trustee
As a Trustee, you will work with a team of passionate individuals to guide Eastgate Theatre’s vision and strategic direction. You will provide oversight on key areas such as finance, programming, and community engagement, while championing our mission to inspire, engage, and create lasting change. This voluntary role involves approximately one day of commitment per month, with six Board meetings per year, along with participation in Board committees or working groups.
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and especially encourage individuals with experience in:
- Marketing
- Legal
- Human Resources
- Fundraising
- Building Management
Skills and Values
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have excellent communication skills and can constructively challenge and support fellow trustees and the leadership team.
- Are committed to Eastgate Theatre’s mission and values, including creativity, inclusivity, and community engagement.
- Are able to think differently, offer new ideas, and challenge existing thinking.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal interview with our Executive & Creative Director, Fraser Morrison, and the Chair of the Board, Fran Swift, ahead of our AGM on Sunday 17th November.
