As well as a year-round programme of live performances, films, classes and exhibitions, the Eastgate also hosts an eye-catching range of festivals.

Creative Peebles Festival Sat 27 August – Sun 4 September 2022

Project Smok Fri 2 September, 7.30pm

The Callant’s Annual Busking Competition Sat 27 August, 2pm

The return of the annual celebration of all things creative is centred on the Eastgate Theatre this year with an exciting mix of music – from collaborations on new work, through the classic kletzmer of the Budapest Cafe Orchestra, piano and poetry and a young band at the forefront of the trad music scene to a celebration of the almost forgotten work of Learmont Drysdale.

Drama is also high on the agenda with Borders Pub theatre giving six new plays about the Tweed and The National Theatre of Scotland presenting a resonant story revolving round questions of political morality.

Outside, the week opens with the Callants Annual Busking Competition and takes in film shows in one of the smallest cinemas in the country and a walk and talk themed on John Buchan’s connections with Peeblesshire.

Details of all these events and more are here in the Eastgate Theatre Summer Brochure.
