TSoC Festival Lecture: the Eastgate story with Richard Murphy 

The re-use of a church for another purpose is not uncommon.  Architecturally however it is always something of a conundrum since the architecture of a church always say “church.” Signage is a rather lame solution; more fundamentally, can we change the architectural rhetoric to communicate the new function? Join award winning architect Richard Murphy as this year’s festival lecture for the Tweeddale Society looks at the transformation of a church into the Eastgate Theatre.
