The Shee is an exceptional all-female band boasting powerful and emotional vocal performances by three beautiful voices and instrumental prowess on accordion, two fiddles, flute, mandolin, and electro-harp.
Showcasing the talents of Radio 2 Folk Musician of the year 2017 Rachel Newton on harp and Sting’s go to clog dancer Amy Thatcher on accordion, the band have a huge range of musical influences. On this tour Scottish-Icelandic percussionist and drummer Signy Jakobsdottir joins the band, injecting a fresh energy to their material. Expect slow airs, Gaelic ballads, original songs, high energy tunes, hypnotic riffs, and, of course…clog dancing!
Following three critically acclaimed albums in ten years, The Shee came up with the idea of each of them commissioning a new piece of music from their individual folk music hero to help create the fourth album Continuum.
“Continuum is a monument to musical collaboration and the exchange of ideas but more than that, it is a tribute to six exceptionally talented musicians.” Folking.com
