A programme of songs specially arranged for the Dukes unique musical ensemble of drums, bass and seven singing ukulele players.
Biggar’s Dukes of Uke make a welcome return to the Eastgate with a mix of songs that relate, admittedly sometimes loosely, to the five senses – specially arranged for their unique musical ensemble of drums, bass and seven singing ukulele players. All the usual nonsense from the Dukes but also with a serious purpose.
50% of the concert proceeds will go to Dementia Friendly Tweeddale. Widely thought of as an illness affecting memory, dementia can also have debilitating effects on the senses. Dementia Friendly Tweeddale aims to increase awareness of the condition and improve the everyday experience of those affected. The Dukes are grateful to the ukulele playing members of Peebles Baptist Church for organising this concert and the other 50% of the funds raised will go towards its King’s Barn Church/Community Hall project.
