Online launch of a new art book created by Yarrow based award-winning artist Helen Douglas.

Creator of award winning art books, Yarrow based Helen Douglas is launching her new edition titled SETTING at an online launch at Edinburgh’s Fruitmarket Gallery on Thursday 1 April, 6–7pm.   The event is Free and, when you register here: you will be sent a link that allows you to take part on zoom.

Helen introduces her new book as Set in the time of Covid.  Its title points to the physical setting of the book within the lockdown location of her home at Deuchar Mill in Yarrow. Yet mostly it’s a look upwards, opening to “the trees, the sky and all that settled within and flew overhead”. In closely observed rhythms the narrative moves through 432 pages of beautifully composed and printed images, sequenced to the turning pages of the book.

During the online launch Helen will present the work and share behind-the-scenes processes from the making of the book in conversation with Fruitmarket’s Iain Morrison.
