The latest film from Scottish director Jen Randall (Psycho Vertical, Operation Moffat) tells the story of adventurer Sarah Outen who spent four years traversing the globe by bike, kayak and rowing boat – covering more than 20,000 miles by human power alone. Her voyage was followed by thousands, hooked on her infectious humour and love of life. But travelling solo, the trip took its toll. Woven from hundreds of hours of filmed footage from the expedition, Home is an intimate and unflinching portrayal of a journey frequently touched by the kindness of strangers, the wonders of the wild, the savagery of the elements, near-death experiences and the demons of Sarah’s emotional trauma.
