A programme of short films exploring the wonders of rock and ice, mountains and snow.

Our opening collection of short films explore the wonders of rock and ice, mountain and snow – high-altitude playgrounds where the stakes are high, but the rewards are huge. Perfect for families, this collection of films takes us on a thrilling journey around the world, including some spectacular parts of Scotland!

Midair, 4.09’
Dir. Louis-Jack
A metaphysical bouldering film with a thumping soundtrack that explores time spent in the air as much as that spent on rock.

Alba goes bikepacking, 2.18’
Dir. Rufus Exton & Steve Bliss
The story of a man who discovers that dogs and bikepacking can go hand in hand … with the help of an electric cargo bike.

Beinn Eighe, Winter snow, 3.42’
Dir. Emma Crome & Ryan Goff
Scottish winter mountaineering is the real deal – and often a hard-won joy. Jack and Ella provide a taste of what’s needed when climbing amongst giants.

If you give a beach a bottle, 5.14’
Dir. Max Romey
Inspired by a picture book, Max Romey heads to a remote beach on Alaska’s coastline in search of marine debris.

On falling, 13.37’
Dir. Josephine Anderson
Three elite mountain bikers explore the romance of the crash.

Motherload, 13.34’
Dir. Zoya Lynch
Former pro skiers Izzy Lynch and Tessa Treadway carry the load of loss, life-changing events and the love of their children into the mountains.

Inside, 12’
Dir. Stefan Ager, Andreas Gumpenberger
Most people ski tour across mountains. Fewer people ski tour inside them … but Austrian skiers Andreas Gumpenberger and Stefan Ager are not normal people!

The Longest Line, 15.27’
Dir. Matt & Ellie Green
What’s the longest straight line you can walk in the UK without crossing a road? POFF favourites Jenny Graham and Calum Maclean team up for a unique and completely ridiculous challenge in the Cairngorms.
