The age old story of Christmas is interwoven with sumptuous feast, bitter frosts and even some dancing at a New Year’s Ball.
The Musicke Companye is renowned internationally for its performances of baroque vocal chamber music, combining superb musicianship and stagecraft. Tonight, in A Yuletide Tale, the company has devised a sequence of songs, music and readings including poetry and diaries by Samuel Pepys, John Evelyn, William Austin and Helen Rogers, plus music by Monteverdi, Grandi, Scarlatti, Purcell, Arne and Mozart alongside traditional carols.
