A talk by Scotland’s multi world record breaking cyclist.
Peebles Cycling Club is delighted to launch its series of Jubilee celebration talks with a talk by Mark Beaumont.
Mark’s is a story of a string of gruelling endurance cycle records and achievements over 25 years. He holds the record for the fastest circumnavigation of the globe by bike, all 18000 miles of it in an incredible 78 days, 14 hours and 40 minutes. He has held the hour record on a penny farthing, broken the Cairo to Cape Town, Africa record and most recently, in September 2022, set a new record for the brutal cycle that is Scotland’s North Coast 500. His new record of 28 hours and 35 minutes meant he achieved an incridible average speed of 18.2mph. Mark’s talk will be followed by a question and answer session.
Peebles Cycling Club has been part of the Tweed Valley community for 25 years, providing opportunities for riders of all ages and abilities. Members enjoy both recreational cycling and racing across mountain biking, road cycling, gravel and cyclocross.
