Julian Goodacre loves tunes almost as much as he loves making bagpipes. So much so that last year he published a new book that is full of them and then gathered some of his musical pals together to put on a very special evening of entertainment. Performed at the Eastgate Theatre in November 2019, and featuring dance and storytelling as well as music, the performance was filmed by Tom Swift. We are delighted that Julian has kindly allowed us to show the performance of Some of Me Tunes (and Some of Me Friends’ Tunes) within #eastgateathome, with part one available now, and part two to come on Thurs 2 July. Part one begins with a specially recorded message for #eastgateathome and the Eastgate Open Doors Campaign.

And for much more on Julian’s work as a bagpipe maker, do check out From Pip to Pipe, a delightful short documentary by local filmmaker Euan Farmer also available on the FRIENDS’ YOUTUBE CHANNEL. The channel sees new clips posted weekly on Thursdays. If you enjoy what you see, please consider donating to the EASTGATE OPEN DOORS CAMPAIGN.
