In the first of three short Zoom interviews, Mary Daykin chats with Richard Nisbet, a key figure from the very beginning of the campaign for a theatre in the area, about how local arts groups and individuals first came together in an effort to realise a dream.
Richard’s reflections on under-equipped halls and the constant lugging around and setting up of scaffolding, cables, props, lighting desks and other equipment will resonate with many others who were also involved in the arts locally at the time.
