Peebles Outdoor Film Festival: Short films + Benedict Allen

Surf the line, 3’ – surfing, but not as you know it …

Iran – A Skier’s Journey, 12’ – warmth, beauty and complexity in the mountains of Iran

What if you fly, 9’ – art and paddle boarding in the high Arctic

The Frozen Road, 24’ – a remarkable solo ride north during an unforgiving Canadian winter (see trailer below)

Tonight’s short films (above) explore adventures in remote corners of the globe followed, after the interval, by an evening with world-renowned explorer Benedict Allen – famed for his technique of immersing himself among indigenous peoples. From crossing the Amazon Basin and trekking through the Gobi with just camels for company to his recent rather high-profile return to Papua New Guinea, few people have lived alone in so many potentially hostile environments for so long.
