Four new ten-minute plays from Borders Pub Theatre, inspired by the life and work of James Hogg, the Ettrick Shepherd. From talking yowes and corbie crows to the deil himself, reimagined characters leap to life from Hogg’s works in these lively and creative semi-staged plays from Borders playwrights.
Expect the natural world and the darker arts both to feature as writers explore the inspiration behind and themes within Hogg’s work, including his “Confessions of a Justified Sinner,” once called “the greatest novel of Scotland.”
Writers: Campbell Hutcheson, Anita John, Roger Simian and Robert Sproul-Cran.
Actors: David Bon, Sara Innes and Scott Noble. Directed by Vivien Reid.
