In the third of a series of films exploring fascinating garden spaces locally, gardening author Jan Cameron joins Lesley Morrison for a tour around a welcoming, accessible space hidden away in the heart of Peebles (and cared for by members of Tweedgreen). As they stroll around, the pair talk about how gardening is not just about growing flowers and vegetables. It’s also about growing friendships, working and learning together, and sharing cake with strangers!
Want to visit for yourself? The garden – which featured in Jan Cameron’s Secret Garden tour as part of Creative Peebles Festival two years ago – is unlocked during the British Heart Foundation shop hours, and volunteer gardeners are usually present on Tuesdays and the first Saturday of the month (from 11am). Visitors are asked to respect the current Covid-19 limit of five households or fewer, including gardeners, although this of course is subject to change.
