This week, local gardening author Jan Cameron meets her friend Rica to discuss the joys of scavenging. Combining the practical and the beautiful, the realistic and the artistic, Rica has created an eco-garden (with a bit of additional guerrilla work) to be proud of. A newbie gardener but an eager learner, Rica explains how she avoids using new plastic and instead scavenges what would otherwise be sent to landfill in order to create a no-waste, no-cost garden gem in a small, shady courtyard.
