A young filmmaker from Peebles currently studying film at Edinburgh Napier University, Euan Farmer’s earliest work featured two of his chief passions: climbing and mountain biking – sports in which there is a strong culture of documenting progression on film. He later entered several mountain biking films into the annual TweedLove Film Competition and which were screened at the Eastgate. In his first year of study at Napier, Euan has been involved in various small drama and documentary projects, most often as cinematographer. We are delighted to now feature SOLO + MUTE, his most recent, and significant, project to date. A short documentary, the film explores the emotional and creative impact of lockdown on Anna Acquroff, the frontwoman of Glasgow-based alt-punk band, Medicine Cabinet.
