The master fiddle player takes to the stage with Jarlath Henderson, Hamish Napier and Innes Watson.
One of Scotland’s great fiddle players, Duncan Chisholm takes to the Eastgate stage in the company of folk royalty multi-instrumentalists Jarlath Henderson, Hamish Napier and Innes Watson.
The band play music from Duncan’s latest album, Sandwood, which contributed to him winning Composer of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2018 Scots Trad Music Awards. Comprising musical melodies awash with dazzling colours, textures and rhythms, these tunes are inspired by the Sutherland bay that brims with beauty and legend.
The correlation between music and the natural world lies at the heart of Duncan’s compositions, his use of melody comes from the tradition within the Highlands of telling stories and painting visual pictures through music.
