Harrison Ward (aka Fell Foodie) has turned the landscape of his Cumbrian home into an open-air kitchen – creating restaurant-style meals, often on a single-burner stove, high up in the Lake District fells.
In Cook Out, his debut cookbook, Harrison shares over 80 gourmet recipes, all packed with big flavours, that can be enjoyed whether on a day walk, wild camping or just relaxing back at the campsite. How about American-style pancakes or Tiroler Gröstl, a proper Alpine fry-up, for breakfast followed by a posh fish finger sandwich for lunch? And for dinner, there are one-pot meals such as Tuscan bean stew and pork belly ramen, as well as all-out ‘summit specials’ including chickpea, spinach and coconut curry, plus sausage and fennel tagliatelle.
As well as revealing his favourite outdoor adventure recipes – there will be samples! – Harrison will also tell the redemptive story of how a combination of his new-found love of the outdoors with a life-long passion for cooking helped turn his life around.
