This self-described “street kid” from the Bronx bailed to Virginia to soak up authentic Appalachian mountain music at the feet of its legendary pioneers. Today, Bruce Molsky is one of the most revered ambassadors for America’s old-time mountain music. For decades, he’s been a globetrotting performer, has recorded seven solo albums, well over a dozen collaborations and had two Grammy-nominations. Admired as the “musician’s musician” by collaborators including Linda Ronstadt and Mark Knopfler, he was dubbed “the Rembrandt of Appalachian fiddlers” by virtuoso violinist Darol Anger. Molsky’s musical virtuosity and conversational wit can make Carnegie Hall feel like a front porch or intimate jam session.
“An incredible power of history and tradition in his vocal“ – Linda Ronstadt
