The Hotel has played a central part in Peebles life for over 200 years. Built by French prisoners from the Napoleonic Wars, it was financed on the “tontine principle” – an early form of life annuity.
Sparkling with characters and intriguing stories, the rich history of this imposing Peebles landmark will be told by owner Kate Innes and local history researcher Sandra Whitnell.
The award-winning Borders hotel is now a popular destination for visitors exploring the rolling hills and historic sights of the region.
