This is an exciting opportunity to join a much-loved theatre and arts centre in the Scottish
Borders. The Box Office Manager (p/t) is an important role and has the responsibility for
managing the box office, all aspects of ticket sales and audience development. Working with
the Director, Marketing Manager, Press Officer, box office volunteers and the rest of the
team at the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, Peebles.

Sales – Main duties and responsibilities
• Box office management and ticket sales
• Manage the Box Office Volunteers
• Plan and help deliver the sales strategy with the Director and Marketing Manager
• To maximise box office sales across events, film and community participation
• To ensure high standards of customer service
• To duty manage at least one event per week – day, eve or weekend when necessary

Person Specification
• A good level of education with experience of Box Office or Sales for a minimum of 2
years is desirable
• Experience working in an arts venue is desirable
• Cash handling, banking and reconciliation
• Managing budgets and monitoring targets (KPIs)
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Box office/Point of Sale software)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Presentable, honest, reliable and professional with an approachable manner
• Team player who works well with others and is a people person
• Willing to work flexible hours

Additional Information
• Term of Employment: Part-time, permanent position
• Place of Work: Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, Peebles or as directed
• Start Date: immediately
• Salary: from £11.50 per hour
• Hours: 16-20 per week. Monday to Friday; with some evening and weekend work,
where necessary. Flexible working days.
• Holidays: 20 days per year (pro rata) including Christmas shutdown plus Bank
Holidays
• Pension: Auto-enrolment in company pension scheme, with employer contribution
