Filmed in 2015 on location in Scotland, including Peebles, this is the story of legendary golf champion and “Dashing Young Man of Golf”, Tommy Morris (Jack Lowden), who won the British Open as a teen in 1868 despite his father’s fervent belief that their family was too lower-class to play the sport at a professional level. The rift between the two men was further widened by Tommy’s romance with Meg (Ophelia Lovibond), a woman of whom his parents disapproved. Peter Mullan is the older Tom, in this, the story of the family who shaped the game of golf as we know it today.
