As winter turns to spring folk music’s legendary triumvirate of musical magpies Mike McGoldrick, John McCusker and John Doyle wrap up their stint on Transatlantic Sessions and tour their blend of top class folk songs, tunes and charming bonhomie.
John Doyle (vocals, guitar, bouzouki, mandola) has played with Joan Baez, Linda Thompson and Mary Chapin Carpenter. John McCusker (fiddle, whistles, harmonium) now lives in the Scottish Borders and has played with The Battlefield Band, Mark Knopfler, Bob Dylan, and Paul Weller. Mike McGoldrick (flute, whistles, Uileann pipes, bodhran, clarinet, congas) is a founding member of Lúnasa, current member of Capercaillie, and has worked with Mark Knopfler, Eddi Reader and John Cale.
Together they have built a global reputation for the excitement and freshness of their treatment of a mixture of brand new tunes and traditional songs that go back hundreds of years.
