Ursula Buchan, award winning author and lecturer specialising in gardening, garden history and social history explores the connections between her grandfather John Buchan and Tweeddale.

John Buchan, the writer (and much more!) spent his youthful holidays at Broughton and Peebles.  He acquired a deep and enduring love for Tweeddale, which he put into many of his writings, including The Thirty-Nine Steps.
