Surrounded by the artwork of West Linton based artist Christian Small, Gerda Stevenson reads her own poetry, much of it inspired by the artist, which was first published in the beautiful book Inside & Out: the Art of Christian Small.
The book tells a story of family, the legacy of war, women’s place in society, motherhood, community and, above all, one woman’s extraordinary artistry and the images are interwoven with poems by Gerda’s and prose by Christian’s daughter Jenny.
The books Inside & Out: the Art of Christian Small and Quines (Gerda’s own poems paying tribute to women of Scotland will be available at the event.
